Zoe Saldana and Milla Jovovich Hollywood's Most Badass Ladies

You really hit the zombie on the head. With four Resident Evil flicks under her skinny supermodel belt, and a fifth in the planning stages, Milla Jovovich certainly fits the description of a female action star.

If four movies is the magic number, then, sure, Saldana is in the same club. But is it a two-person club?

RELATED: Did Someone Rip Off Angelina Jolie's Wanted Poster?

Probably not.

It's pretty safe to say that Angelina Jolie falls into the action heroine category, Bosnian war weeper projects notwithstanding. Two Lara Croft movies, Salt, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Wanted—heck, throw in Gone in 60 Seconds if you feel like it—and you have a babe who, generally speaking, has kicked enough ass to join those other Ladies Who Punch.

Oh, and Sigourney Weaver?

Yes, thanks to the Alien franchise.

Sarah Michelle Gellar and Jennifer Garner both have drop-kicked enough attackers on TV to more than earn their membership. And don't count out fighting femmes on the other side of the sea, lest Michelle Yeoh or Zhang Ziyi pummel you in your sleep.

Kim Kardashian’s Three Wedding Gowns: All the Details!

When Kim Kardashian chose family friend Vera Wang to create her custom couture wedding gowns, she knew things would be picture perfect.
What she didn’t know, however, was which of the three intricate gowns she would choose to wear for her walk down the aisle.

“I truly, up until two days before [the wedding] could not decide which to wear,” the bride admits to PEOPLE.

After seeking advice from friends, family — and of course Wang herself — the choice was clear: Kardashian made her grand entrance in what she calls the “princess look” gown, a ball gown with full tulle skirt, basque waist and hand-pieced Chantilly lace appliqué on bodice and train.

Along with her Lorraine Schwartz headpiece, she wore a cathedral-length veil with hand-pieced Chantilly lace appliqué at the hem and a lightly shirred blusher layer.

Motown entertainer Nick Ashford dies

Motown entertainer Nick Ashford
Nick Ashford, who with Valerie Simpson, his songwriting partner and later wife, wrote some of Motown's biggest hits, such as "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" and "Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing," died Monday (Aug. 22, 2011) at a hospital in New York City. Mr. Ashford, 70, had throat cancer and was undergoing treatment. He lived in Manhattan.

One of the primary songwriting teams of Motown, Ashford & Simpson specialized in romantic duets of the most dramatic kind, professing the power of true love and the comforts of sweet talk.

In "Ain't No Mountain High Enough," from 1967, their first of several hits for Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell, lovers in close harmony proclaim their determination that "no wind, no rain, no winter's cold, can stop me, Baby," but also make cuter promises:

"If you're ever in trouble, I'll be there on the double." Gaye and Terrell also sang the duo's songs "Your Precious Love," "Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing" and "You're All I Need to Get By."

Diana Ross sang their "Reach Out and Touch Somebody's Hand," and when she rerecorded "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" in 1970, it became the former Supreme's first No. 1 hit as a solo artist.

Nickolas Ashford was born in Fairfield, S.C., and raised in Willow Run, Mich. He got his musical start at Willow Run Baptist Church, singing and writing songs for the gospel choir. He dropped out of college and moved to New York, where he tried but failed to find success as a dancer.

In 1964, while homeless, Mr. Ashford went to White Rock Baptist Church in Harlem, where he met Simpson, a 17-year-old recent high school graduate who was studying music.

They began writing songs together, selling the first bunch for $64. They married in 1974. In addition to his wife, among the survivors are two daughters, Nicole and Asia; three brothers, Paul, Albert and Frank; and his mother, Alice Ashford.

An earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale struck Virginia on Tuesday afternoon, with tremors reaching as far as New York City and North Carolina.

The quake struck slightly before 2 p.m., forcing the evacuation of several buildings including the Pentagon. Reuters reports the earthquake's epicenter was near Mineral, Virginia, and lasted for about 30 to 45 seconds.

There have been no reports of serious damages or injuries. The quake was considered very strong for the mid-Atlantic. Virginia's earthquake comes on the heels of another rare quake in Trinidad, Colorado, which rocked the state with a magnitude of approximately 5.3.

This is not the first time in recent history that an earthquake has struck the area. On July 16, 2010, a 3.6-magnitude quake struck at about 5 a.m., causing no major disruptions.

The quake was felt as far away as Pennsylvannia and West Virginia, as earthquakes east of the Rocky Mountains can be felt over a larger surface area. Read more at http://www.zimbio.com/

Katie Eastman Sudden Celebrity

txt
Stephen Colbert as the fictional Stephen ColbertKatie Eastman, a 22-year-old TV reporter from Des Moines, Iowa, didn't expect to become a national sensation only two months into fledgling career.

But a couple weeks ago, the WIO-TV employee caught the attention of The Colbert Report host Stephen Colbert.

Her station had refused to air an ad from Colbert's recently formed super political action committee, the Colbert SuperPAC.

In the ad, Iowa voters are urged to vote for "Rick Parry" -- the misspelling of Texas Gov. Rick Perry's name is intentional -- and then Colbert is shown mocking the TV station and Eastman, its "intrepid cub reporter" whose stories have included pieces on garage sales.

After the station's refusal to air the ad, Colbert fired back on his Comedy Central show.

"Clearly someone needs to get to the bottom of this corruption!" Colbert said. "Someone on the inside, like intrepid WOI reporter Katie Eastman."
He added: "Katie blew the lid off Garage-Sale-Gate! Clearly, Katie, you're the only one I can trust. Call me."

Why Megan Fox is removing her tattoo of tragic Marilyn Monroe

Megan Fox Marilyn Monroe removing tattoo
Megan Fox has revealed she is removing her tattoo of Marilyn Monroe in a bid to avoid attracting 'negative energy'.

The 25-year-old actress, whose acting career has floundered in recent years, began laser treatment on her forearm inking earlier this year.

She was quizzed about her etching of the iconic blonde bombshell, who died in 1962 at the age of 36, by Italian magazine Amica.

Fox, who was spotted on the set of This is 40 in LA today, explained: 'I'm removing it.

It is a negative character, as she suffered from personality disorders and was bipolar.

Former Transformers star Megan has around nine tattoos - other inkings include; a quote on her shoulder reading 'We will all laugh at gilded butterflies' and a tribal mark on her left wrist.

She also has a tribute to her Passion Play co-star Mickey Rourke, 57.

The tattoo, over the right side of her rib cage, reads: 'Those who danced were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music.'

She told MTV.com: 'Mickey is such a beautiful, wonderful human being. He's so genuine and so sweet and so talented. I just love him to death.

'I actually got a tattoo that is sort of in honour of him. It's on my ribs.'

While the Passion Play actors hit it off, the film was not such a success - it flopped in spectacular fashion and went straight to DVD.

It was yet another blow to Megan's acting career, which has nosedived since she parted ways with the successful Transformers franchise.

She no doubt hoping to turn around her fortune with her new Judd Apatow project This Is 40, which also stars Chris O'Dowd and Jason Segal.

It is rumoured to be a spin off film from 2007 hit comedy Knocked Up which starred Seth Rogan and Katherine Heigl.

Hurricane Irene gaining strength

Irene gaining strength
Airlines began canceling flights to wind-whipped San Juan, the Dominican Republic braced for dangerous flooding and the U.S. Navy pulled its hospital ship from Haitian waters Sunday as fast-moving Tropical Storm Irene churned across the Northwestern Caribbean.

Though winds stayed at 50 mph for most of the day, by 11 p.m. the National Hurricane Center in West Miami-Dade County said that maximum sustained winds were up to 70 mph with higher gusts. Center forecasters also said Irene was slowly organizing and it could become the season’s first hurricane by today after it crosses Puerto Rico and approaches the southeastern tip of the Dominican Republic.
From there, Irene’s path was less certain, with South Florida -- but also much of south Atlantic Coast -- potentially in its sights as early as Thursday.
