NBA Playoff Schedule: Boston ss. New York in First Round Series
The 2011 NBA Playoff schedule has a Boston vs. New York seriestaking place in the first round now. The 2011 NBA Playoff schedule just got even more intense with the Boston Celtics losing on Monday night and the Miami Heat winning. When the Philadelphia 76ers lost their game to the Orlando Magic, it completed the seeding for the Eastern Conference. A Boston vs. New York Knicks series will now take place in the first round of the 2011 Eastern Conference Playoffs, with the Celtics as the no. 3 seed and the Knicks as the no. 6 seed. The final standings in the East were set based on the game outcomes on Monday, April 11, and it was surprising that they ended so abruptly. What it will do though, is allow a lot of preparation for the postseason for every team that qualified. The Celtics fell to the third seed by losing five of their last 10 games, and the Knicks are on a seven-game winning streak that allowed them to get back into the sixth spot. So far in the 2010-11 regular season, Boston has won all three games that they have played. That fourth and final game will actually be on the last day of the regular season, and though meaninglessin the standings, could serve as momentum for the winner. It's odd that the regular season would end between two teams that will face each other in the first round, but that is exactly what we have here. Now, it will be a battle between the hard-nosed defense of the Celtics and the fast-paced offense of the Knicks. Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudemire will get to show what they can do, and they will have an entire city of fans paying close attention to every game. For Boston, they have to prove that age and the loss of Kendrick Perkins haven't caught up to them. The Boston vs. New York series will get under way this weekend, and the winner will play the winner of the Miami vs. Philadelphia series in the secondround. Do you think the Knicks can pull an upset here? Are the Boston Celtics primed for another championship run?
