TALLADEGA, Alabama - He has seen one of his cars soar into the fence and seen countless others hauled bruised and battered backto the garage. He also has three wins here as an owner, most recently here in 2009 with Jamie McMurray. Jack Roush is quick to admit that"historically, I have not been a fan of going to either Talladega or Daytona, for the risk involved." Because of the speed and close-quarter drafting at Talladega Superspeedway, drivers are not able to keep "out of harm's way,"Roush said Friday morning, sitting in a director's-style chair outside the No. 99 team's hauler. "On short tracks, you have a choice to back away or give quarter than you don't have here.The speeds are so fast and the time you have to react to (an incident) are so small, if you're in the proximity of something that goes wrong in front of you, you just about can't avoid it," Roush said.
