WASHINGTON - Rep. Anthony Weiner is asking for a temporary leave of absence from the House of Representatives while he seeks professional treatment in the wake of his Twitter scandal.
A spokeswoman for the New York Democrat says he has left for professional treatment and will focus on "becoming a better husband and healthier person."
Spokeswoman Risa Heller says Weiner wants the leave of absence so he can be evaluated and work out a course of treatment.
The statement doesn't say what Weiner would be treated for.
Just before Weiner issued the statement, leading Democrats had demanded that he step down.

2. Notifications - WebOS and Android
Many have called the notification system for texts and push on iOS devices pretty annoying, as messages pop up right in the center of your screen interrupting whatever you were in the middle of doing. They're also not particularly descriptive. WebOS has been known for having a useful notification system that lists out text messages, emails, upcoming appointments and other things right on the lock screen. And the swipe-down gesture to view all current notifications is very much like the experience on an Android smartphone.
3. Sync iTunes Via WiFi - Android (Via 3rd-Party App) So, granted, this isn't built in to Android phones, but with a third-party app called DoubleTwist, Android users have been able to synchronize their smartphones with iTunes over WiFi for a while now.
4. iMessage - BlackBerry Apple's upcoming iOS messaging client screams BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) -- letting users see real-time typing notifications and get read receipts when the user they're sending to has read a message sent to them. Indeed, some say BBM is one of the strongest features keeping everyday users (as opposed to business users) hooked on their BlackBerry devices.
5. Integrating Twitter - WebOS Palm's "Synergy" feature on WebOS lets users plug in their logins to multiple social networking sites as well as email services and get everything in one place, pulling in the latest updates and even adding Facebook and LinkedIn contacts to their phone.

Hundreds of women try out for a shot at 'The Bachelor'
KIRKLAND, Wash. - Hundreds of women lined up in Kirkland on Saturday for a chance at romance and stardom during anopen casting call for ABC's reality show "The Bachelor."
All were hoping to make the cut - and find love.
"You know I've had a really hard time dating in Seattle, so if I can find somebody on TV - then so be it," says one contestant, Jaymee Espinueva. Another contestant, Sarah Stokes, brought her current love, her little pet dog Yogi.
"He's brought a lot of attention so far. He's my man. No. 1 man in my life," she says.
All of the contestants were hoping they have what producers are looking for. Last season several women from Western Washington made it onto the show.
"We're looking for all sorts of types," says Divida Vaccaro, senior casting producer."We don't really know until we see it, I can honestly say. We are looking for young girls that a willing to take a chance on finding love."
Every contestant gets several pictures taken, and then goes through a series of interviews. They are asked a battery of questions - whether they have ever been married or divorced, whether they have children - and plenty more.
But reality TV means drama. So these young women also must ask themselves if they really want to go through all the emotion and conflict.
"I'm probably one of the older ladies in this crowd," says Espinueva. "I've seen it all. I've been through it all."
"Gonna be the man of my dreams," says Stokes. "I mean - why not fight for him, and why not find him on TV and have our love story captured."
And you never know - producers say they are always keeping their eye open for the next Bachelorette.
Joe Francis '90 percent sure' Blake Lively leaked her own photos
A few days ago, five photographs of the actress Blake Lively leaked throughout the internet posing naked in front of a mirror. Lively immediately said that the photos were forged and intimidated the press charges against the publications that formerly make public the images.
A day after, 17 more photos flowed. However, Joe Francis (Girls Gone Wild producer), believes the entire thing was arranged. "I would say 90 percent it's an organized effort or work on her part [to raise her profile in showbiz]. I'm not sure, but my tendency is that it's coming from herself. She knows what she's carrying out or somebody in her camp does," clarified Francis.
Francis says that the actress has obtained a wide range of coverage and pointed out Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton and Pamela Anderson as instances of celebrities who got boost in their fame after their sex tapes.

Manny Malhotra returns to Canucks lineup
Manny Malhotra made his long-awaited return to the Vancouver lineup Saturday as the Canucks took on the Boston Bruins in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup finals.
Malhotra kept the guessing games on his status going, but his listing in the starting lineup, released about five minutes before game time, ended a week of doubts.

Jackie Evancho Is Big Hit on 'Britain's Got Talent'
After wowing American audiences for nearly a year, Jackie Evancho crossed the pond to perform in London this weekend and blew away an audience at the finale for "Britain's Got Talent."
Evancho was the runner-up last summer in the British show's American cousin -- NBC's "America's Got Talent." It catapulted her tointernational fame as she amazed the judges and audiences with her soaring adult-like voice.
British hosts Ant and Dec introduced her Saturday night with video clips from home and past performances, calling her "an ordinary schoolgirl who blew America awaywhen she entered its biggest talent contest."
Encircled by hundreds of candles on the stage floor, the 11-year-old Evancho sang"Nessun Dorma" from Giacomo Puccini's opera "Turandot" in her live United Kingdom debut performance. see the YouTube video of her performance.

iPhone 4 iShuttr case turn your phone into a camera, adds Xenon flash
Those of you who own an iPhone 4 know that the photos taken with it can sometimes come out too dark or blurry. We admit, the iPhone’s camera is better than a lot of cell phone cams, but it could always be better. Until the launch of the iPhone 5, which is said to have a better camera, we’ll have to find other ways to make our iPhone photo-taking a little better. One product in the works is the iShuttr: a case that adds a flash, zoom buttons, and a shutter release button to the iPhone. Created by Robert Haleluk, a professional photographer and programmer, the iShuttr is still in Kickstarter mode. The iShuttr is more of a camera case for the iPhone 4 intended to make mobile photography better. Yes, the iPhone 4 already has an LED flash which works pretty well for close-up photos, but it doesn’t do much for shooting anything past a distance of two to three feet. Haleluk said the team behind the iShuttr has acquired Apple’s MFi license, which stands for “Made For iOS.” So, the project is licensed by Apple , but in order to submit it to Apple for “consumer grade testing,” they need to create final units and have them tested by a third-party facility first. Hence, why they took the iShuttr to Kickstarter. The iShuttr crew needs to raise $50,000 in the next 72 daysand has already raised a little under$5,000. The iShuttr adds a Xenon Strobe flash to the back of the case. The case also has a zoom button which allows you to zoom inand out. In addition, the iShuttr features a shutter release, which is key since pushing the shutter button on your iPhone’s touchscreen actually pushes the lens a tiny bit. Although it’s a small movement, it’s enough to cause your photo to blur slightly. The case can be used with a standard tripod to assure maximum stability. It also has an ergonomic grip so that the user knows where to put their hand while shooting, eliminating any fingers getting in the way of the lens. The iShuttr also hasan external battery system which can be charged through an external USB port on the bottom of the case.

Patti LaBelle Faces Legal Action From Man Her Bodyguard Attacked
Soul singer Patti LaBelle is facing legal action for allegedly ordering a bodyguard to attack a man who got too close to her at an airport in Texas earlier this year. Richard King, 23, claims the Lady Marmalade hitmaker called on her security staff to assault him at a Houston airport on March 11. King's lawyer, John Raley said, "Apparently, LaBelle believed King was standing too close to her luggage, even though he was oblivious to her presence and the danger he was in. She lowered the window of her limousine and gave a command to her bodyguards. They sprang into action." An airport security video, obtained by the Houston Chronicle newspaper, shows a bloody King being pushed and punched before falling into a concrete pillar. The camera also captured Houston security personnel posing for photographs with thestar sometime after the incident.
