Jani Lane Former Warrant Vocalist Dead at 47

According to TMZ, police found Lane's body in a room in a Woodland Hills, California Comfort Inn hotel. Right now, no official cause of death has been released.

Lane penned Warrant's most famous songs including "Cherry Pie," "Heaven" and "Uncle Tom's Cabin."

Over the years, Lane and the remaining members of Warrant had a tumultuous relationship.

Lane left and rejoined the band several times, most recently reuniting with the original members in 2008. This reunion lasted only a few months and Lane was permanently replaced in Warrant by vocalist Robert Mason. In between his time with Warrant, Lane worked on several solo projects and toured with other 80s metal acts.

Belieber or not, Justin is still just a teenager who likes to dostupid things for fun ... like coneing . I had no idea that coneing was a thing, but apparently it's the latest teen craze sweeping the nation following the likes of planking, owling , and batting . It's so hard to keep up with the kids these days!
Anyway, coneing is when you go through the drive-thru and when the guy hands youthe ice cream cone you ordered, you grab itby the ice cream part , rather than the cone part. Naturally, hilarity ensues. Bieber pulls off the coneing with skill and humor, but it's what he does after the stunt that's raising some eyebrows. Did he go too far?
OK, so the coneing. It's funny. I laughed. Sure, I have the maturity of a 7-year-old, but what can I say? I giggled. The humor ishelped by the fact that Bieber is driving his fancy Mercedes and it's even funnier that he has an earring. Hey Justin, 1993 called and it was like: "Really? OK. I mean, I guess ."
Anyway, after he cones, he decides to try and return a Wendy's Frosty to a Burger King. So ... yeah. It's not really friendly to do that, and yes it exploits the Burger King employee, but ... I don't know. Is it really so bad? Is it really out of line with the simple rebellion teens around the country take part in every day?
If Bieber can start a trend of coneing, I support it . The only one being harmed by coneing is the poor ice cream, so really I see nothing wrong with it. I love a yummy McD's cone any time of day, any time of year, so I would never be able to harm a frozen treat like that, but if others are intoit, I see no harm. I'm not so wild about thereturning-a-Wendy's-Frosty-to-Burger-King trend, but you know, it's not thaaat bad.

Aurelie Filippetti warned not to visit Dominique Strauss-Kahn in his 'sex den'

A top French politician was warned not to meet Dominique Strauss-Kahn in his Paris apartment because he was said to have attacked other women there, it has been claimed.
Aurelie Filippetti was questioned on Friday by police in France over the allegations, made in emails to the mother of Tristane Banon, who says she was sexually assaulted by Strauss-Kahn in 2003.
Miss Banon, 32, alleges that the former head of the International Monetary Fund tore off her clothes and tried to rape her at the apartment during an interview.
Strauss-Kahn is already facing criminal charges in New York over the alleged attempted rape of a hotel chambermaid in May - allegations which he has denied.
Leaked email exchanges between Miss Filippetti and Miss Banon's mother, Anne Mansouret, which were written shortly after the alleged attack, detail the strength of feeling felt against Strauss-Kahn by women in French politics.
'I wanted to tell you my youngest daughter, aged 24...is about to file a legal complaint against a man in his fifties unfortunately with a PS (Socialist Party) label,' Miss Mansouret wrote.

Interest in Google+ falling among users

Are users already getting tired of the fledgling social network for Google? A recent study offers data that supports a slowdown in traffic on Google+.

Experian Hitwise released a report today that supports a slowdown in usage of the Google+ social network. According to the analytics firm, total Google+ visits fell by three percent during the week of July 23. The week prior (July 16) saw a traffic increase of 283 percent over the previous week at about 1.86 million visits. User engagement also dropped as Google+ members spent 10% less time on the site. Specifically, users spent about 5 minutes, 15 seconds on the site during the July 23 week compared to nearly 6 minutes during the July 16 week.

Google co-founder Larry Page claimed that users had shared over one billion items on Google+ on a July 14 conference call and comScore reported that the site broke 20 million users last week. It’s possible the waning interest in the social network can be explained by the lack of access to the public. Without friends to populate the network, users are less likely to spend time on Google+ and focus attention on social networks like Facebook.

‘Battleship’ trailer released, looks absurdly awesome

"Battleship" the movie might seem like a sure-fire flop. But the first trailer, released today, actually shows some promise — if boats, babes and explosive combat with aliens are your cup of tea.

Hollywood has long been criticized for completely running out of ideas. One of the seemingly most obvious examples was the 2009 announcement of “Battleship,” the movie based off of the board game of the same name.

But here it is, 2011, and the first trailer for “Battleship” has officially arrived. And it looks… pretty freakin’ sweet, actually! It has good music (The Black Keys, DJ Shadow), solid cinematography, and a hell of a lot of explosions — exactly the kind you would hope to see from a movie called “Battleship.” Of course, trailers can often be deceptive. This one, however, has a few promising elements — something that’s essential to marketing a movie based on a game that involves pegs and little plastic boats.

Iranian strongman Dadashi stabbed to death

TEHRAN, July 17 (Xinhua) -- Iranian holder of powerlifter and strongman title, Rouhollah Dadashi, was killed in Iran's northern city of Karaj, the semi-official Mehr news agency reported on Sunday.

Dadashi was attacked and stabbed to death on 16 July 2011 by three young men. The murderers escaped from the scene by a car, said the report.

Dadashi participated five times in Iran's Strongest Man competitions and could reach the final of all of them and became the champion in two of them in 2009 and 2010.

The police has started investigations into the murder of the 30- year-old champion, according to Mehr.

Punk comes out, as expected, to an enormous reaction. Punk comes out with a new shirt and has the crowd going nuts. He soaks in the crowd reaction and sits in the middle of the ring. Insane reaction for Punk. Cena's music hits and he gets insanely booed while Punk claps for Cena outside of ring. Back and forth early on with the crowd solidly behind Punk.

CM Punk pinned John Cena to win the WWE Championship.

Punk celebrated and McMahon got on the headset and asked for Del Rio to come to the ring. The crowd chanted "CM Punk" as Punk looked on, bewildered. Del Rio then ran to the ring, but was nailed by a kick from Punk. Punk then took off through the crowd as the fans went wild, while McMahon was losing his mind. Michael Cole noted that the bell never rang. Punk then celebrated in the crowd and went back through the stands with his newly won title.
